Road Planing
Road planing is used to remove the surface layer of a tarmac road or path. The top layer is skimmed from the surface and the planings, or scalpings, are collected for reuse. A fresh surface is applied to the open sub-surface to refresh and renew the roadway without increasing the depth or height of the existing surface.
The planings collected can be reused in a number of ways, including to create new sub surfaces, and to form new surface materials.
